Hesperbot

Hesperbot, a new and very effective banking trojan, that targets people who use online banking in order to gain access to their accounts.

The nasty part about this new malware is its design, which is able to circumvent the mobile multi factor authentication systems.

Hesperbot is detected as Win32/Spy.Hesperbot and its source code looks almost identical to Zeus and SpyEye Banking, two very well known trojans.

Until now, Hesperbot infected devices/users located in the UK, the Czech republic, Turkey and Portugal.

This malware is very advanced in its capabilities. It features a key logger, which records everything you’re typing and sends the data to its owner via email/sms. Also, it will capture screenshots from your device and is capable of setting up a remote proxy.

It works also on Android OS.

Lenovo Vibe X

 Lenovo also announced their ultra-thin Vibe X smart phone. The Lenovo Vibe X is a very sleek and elegant droid, just 6.9 mm thin, weighing a mere 120 grams and sporting an impressive 5 inches wide touchscreen, with full HD 1080 resolution.

Vibe X is one of the most compact devices you will find on the market and is the successor of the K900, combining high end specs with a reasonable price tag. While the K900 used the snappy Atom processor from Intel, the Vibe X runs on a quad core Mediatek 6589T CPU clocked at 1.6 GHz.

Among other goodies one could expect from a top of the range smartphone, the Vibe comes with 2 GB of RAM,16 GB of internal storage, a 2000 mAh power unit and runs on Android 4.2 JellyBean out of the box. Weird enough, Lenovo failed to add a micro SD card slot for expanding its storage capability, and that’s a pity.

The main selling point of the Vibe X is the 5 inches wide IPS display, a full HD unit with an impressive 441 ppi pixel density, protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Note 10.1 Revealed at IFA 2013

 Note 3 comes with a 5.7 inches wide Super AMOLED display, full HD, it features a quad core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, 3 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage. The battery is an impressive laptop-like 3300 mAh unit.

Galaxy Note 3 will be available in three colors: Classic White, Blush Pink for the girls and Justin Bieber fans and Jet Black.

Along with the Galaxy Note 3, Samsung also revealed the Note 10.1.2014 edition, a “facelift” sort of speak of the initial Note. The LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (the 2014 edition) runs on the same platform, with the quad core CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz, with 3 GB of ram and 2 versions, one with 32 GB of internal memory, the other with 64 GB.

The 10.1 inches wide touch screen has a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and comes with a 8 Megapixels shooter on the back panel, capable of full HD 1080p video recording at 60 frames per second.

Both smartphones, phablets  are running on Android 4.3 out of the box, enhanced with Samsung’s own user interface, the TouchWiz. The Galaxy Note 3 will be available for the general public from September 25′th in 140 countries while the Note 10.1 is expected to hit the markets later on in Q3.

KitKat flavor in Android market

A  great news for all android users  Android 4.4 KitKat, the next iteration of the most popular mobile operating system in the world.

Everybody thought that the next version of the Android OS will be 5.0 Key Lime Pie, there were countless rumors about the issue. But Google surprised us all , when they announced the successor of the JellyBean to be named KitKat, just like that brand of candy bar marketed by Hershey in the United States. Yeah, these guys have an obsession with sweets.

The official nick-name of the new version of the mobile OS was confirmed by Sundar Pichai, the boss of Android and Chrome. Android 4.4 KitKat is named just like Nestle’s KitKat candy bar and if it is half as good as the real Kit Kat, we’re in for a real treat.

Toq, The Smartwatch From Qualcomm

Toq is a touchscreen smartwatch and it’s designed to be used together with an Android running device, like a smartphone or a tablet. One of the main selling points of the Toq smartwatch is its high-tech Mirasol display, Qualcomm’s in house project, a screen which uses a low energy technology, which failed to gain acceptance on a large scale by smartphone manufacturers. At least, until now, Toq hopes to change the trend.

According to reports, the Toq smartwatch will offer up to five days of battery lifetime and that’s great news when compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Gear, which lasts for just one day.

The Toq uses an app from Google Play Store in order to link to a smartphone running on Android 4.0.3 and above. After successfully installed, Toq will allow you to accept calls, play music, read emails and text messages and the like. You can also use wireless headsets with the smartwatch.

Along with the extended battery life, Toq uses a very clever charging method. All you have to do is to put the smartwatch down on its case, and voila. No need for plugs or cables.Another cool thing about Qualcomm’s baby is that it will feature interchangeable watch faces.
